Hello,

What does the sentence below mean?

Something is off.

Thanks for your help in advance.

We are happy to help if we can, Ferdie, but we shouldn't have to hunt through websites to find your context.

I am reading Eclipse. You mean I shoudn't have done my research and give the context this way?

By 'context' we generally mean enough information to enable us to see what the word means. In your case, providing the sentence or two immediately preceding 'Something is off' should work.

Ok, here it is:

I stared at him, speculating. He didn't seem to notice. His face was serene as he gazed out the windshield. Something was off, but I coudn't put my finger on it.

I hope this enables you to understand the context. Thanks.

Something was not quite right. Something was not quite as it should be
