Hello

Can I use "sonorous" to describe a female singer's voice?

For example, is this correct?

Adele has a crisp and sonorous voice.

What other adjectives can I use to describe Adele's voice?

What are some singers that you would say have a sonorous voice?

Can't it be used to describe the voice of female singers?

I don't see why not.

Did you mean to ask Can it be used to describe a female singer's voice? When you begin a question with can't, it means you think the answer is probably "No, you can't."

I was not sure if it can be used.

What are some female singers with a sonorous voice?

Who are some female singers with a sonorous voice?
Classical/operatic contraltos such as Kathleen Ferrier and Janet Baker.

You can listen to their recordings on YouTube, but don't expect to hear anything of the sonority/resonance you are asking about through the tinny, tiny speakers of your computer.

I see. Am I right in assuming that "sonorous" cannot be ascribed to pop singers like Adele?

The voices of pop singers are invariably enhanced/amplified electronically. We never hear the natural timbre of their untreated singing voices.
