[Grammar] Square (preposition)

Hello!
Which preposition(s) can be used with the noun "square"? I've come across at/in/on the square, but I am not sure if they are all correct and if there's any difference in their usage.
ex.The statue is located in Republic square in the town.

I would capitalise "Square" in "in Republic Square". It sounds like it's the official name of the square so it's a proper noun.

Could you tell me some examples in which "at" or "on"would be more appropriate? Which one would you prefer in these sentences?

The concert will be held __ the main square.
I met him __ Republic Square.
There are some bookstalls __ Federation Square.

There are some bookstalls in Federation Square.

Thank you for your reply. I am not sure if you refer to "in" and "on" when you say that both would be okay, since I mentioned three prepositions. Can you tell me one example with "at" if you can think of any?
