Would it be wrong if i change 'A' to lower case? If it is fine, which is the preferred version?

Are there sentences where a capital is used after a colon? Or should I always write the first word after a colon in such sentences in lower case?

In the sentence I posted earlier, the part after the colon is not a complete sentence. -- ...A favourite football that drifted all the way to Alaska.

You will see capital letters used after colons sometimes, and I think it's more common in AmE. I don't use them- I use capital letters for the start of sentences and proper nouns, apart from things like titles and headings.

As Rover has said, 'would... changed' is right. But a lot of people in a colloquial context would ask 'Do you m/]Mind if change it?' or '[Is it] OK [by you] if I change it?' (with both verbs in the present) As often happens in the grammar of speech, the speaker can change construction in mid-flow, starting with 'would' and ending with a verb in the present. It's not 'right', but it often happens.

You are right in saying that some people use capital letters after a colon for such sentences. I have seen them used this way more than once, which confused me before the reply from you and the other members.
