tabloid/broadsheet newspapers

Hello everyone,

In most of the countries, I presume, there are or there used to be newspapers full of gossip (rumours), scandal, lies, and maybe some provocative pictures. I have searched in Google and found the options "tabloid newspapers" or "broadsheet newspapers".

My experience says "tabloid newspapers". Am I right or both are possible?

Yes, in general, tabloids are smaller papers and tend to include celebrity gossip etc, and broadsheets are larger (hence the name) and much more serious.

In the UK, The Sun, The Daily Mail and the Daily Express are examples of tabloids, and The Telegraph, The Guardian and The Independent are examples of broadsheets.
