What follows below is an exercise where the task is to rewrite the sentence with a meaning as close as possible to the original.

When I shouted at the boys to stop throwing stones they completely ignored me.

The boys___________________when I shouted at them to stop throwing stones.

I wrote "took no heed of me" but the correct answer seems to be "took no notice of". Would my answer have been considered wrong?

Thank you

Is this a homework assignment?

Not at all, I'm aware of the forum rules. I'm self studying for an exam and took this exercise from a past test.

In this use, "heed" and "notice" are synonyms.
