[Vocabulary] Tears pour? in his eyes.

I came across a sentence in an exercise which says "Tears well in his eyes."

Is it appropriate to say "Tears pour in his eyes." or "Tears pour out from his eyes."? What about "Tears well out from his eyes."? Thanks!

The following are natural (I've used the past tense — your use of the present tense is possible but less common, I'd say):

'Tears welled (up) in his eyes' ('up' is optional).

'Tears welled from/out of his eyes.

'Tears flowed from/out of his eyes.'

'Tears poured from/out of his eyes.'

Yes, if he suddenly bursts into tears.

When tears well up, they don't necessarily fall. It describes that moment when someone is just beginning to cry and the tears exit the tear ducts and balance on the lower eyelid. Sometimes you can get them to go away by blinking. Sometimes you can't, and then you cry.
