hi there,

I still cannot categorize this conjunction.

It's similar to even though, yet even though is a subordinating conjunction in adverbial clauses, and albeit behaves quite strangely and dissimilarly.

What kinds of conjunctions would you categorize this into?

As in: He tried, albeit without success.

As a disjunctive operator with a stripped sentence.

you mean the coordinating conjunction? You see, the term you stated does not exist in english linguistics...

If you think so, could you send me a reference link

thank you for your input

He tried, albeit (he tried) without success.

In what respect does this behave differently from a subordinator?

say, do subordinators not connect main clause with their subordinate / dependent clauses? The punctuation is also different in adverbial clauses with subordinators.

just wondering...

can you elaborate on that a bit?

They do. What is your point?

Give me just one example, please. Are you not saying that 'albeit' is different from adverbial conjuncts, like 'however'?
