Hi,

- The Elizabethan era was the epoch in English history of Queen Elizabeth I's reign (1558–1603).

I would like to ask if I can use 'is' instead of 'was' in the sentence.

I would stick with "was".
 
Why not "is"? It is a fact. I feel confused. :oops:
 
Yes, it is a fact, but it is a past fact. There have been many other epochs.
