1) Sell your fruit the same way as John does.

2) Sell your fruit the same way John does.

3) Sell your fruit the same way as John.

4) Sell your fruit the same way John.

5) Sell your fruit the same way that John.

Are sentences (4) and (5) correct? (I ask this because somebody said sentence (4) was correct)
 
No—they're wrong.
 
You don't actually need 'same'. This conveys the message: Sell your fruit the way John does.
 
I say 1 is also wrong. The as should be that.

Sell your fruit the [same] way [that] John does.
 
1) Sell your fruit the same way as John does.

2) Sell your fruit the same way John does.

3) Sell your fruit the same way as John.

4) Sell your fruit the same way John.

5) Sell your fruit the same way that John.

Are sentences (4) and (5) correct? (I ask this because somebody said sentence (4) was correct)

In my opinion (4) could be correct given appropriate context.
 
I can make that work only with a comma after 'way'. The meaning is then very different.
