Hi everyone

I am looking for a word for the following situation.

Imagine you’re sitting on a sofa. Suddenly, you feel a presence in your room. Something like a ghost. You look at the sofa and you see that the sofa is pushed down like someone has sat on it. You believe it was a ghost.

Is the phrase pushed down correctly used? What other words or phrases do you suggest?

You can see a depression in the [seat] cushion.

You need to be specific about it being the cushion. Saying that the sofa has been pushed down suggests the entire piece of furniture has somehow been pushed into the floor!

You might also call it an imprint or (very informally) a 'butt print'.

Regardless of what you call it, grab some salt and iron. Maybe burn some sage, too. ;)
