the usage of remain +Ving / remain + past participle

Hi Since remain can be followed Ving or p.p., why I have to say:
'We here at Home Remodeling (company name) remain committed to reliable service...
why not remain committing??

In that sentence you need the adjective 'committed', which is the same word as the p.p.
