Someone in my chat group said last night that she was visiting Chongqing from Hongkong. She asked some questions about the renting cars here. I read from her profile that she’s originally from Hongkong (her birthday place) so I bet she might be interested in the local Cantonese club in Chongqing.

I said to her “FYI, there’s a Cantonese club in Chongqing where a group of people meets every week to talk about interesting things in Cantonese”.

Is the italic sentence natural? I used “FYI” because I guessed she might be interested in that.

Someone in my chat group said last night that she was visiting Chongqing, where I live, from Hong Kong.

She asked some questions about the renting cars here. (This sentence is completely irrelevant to the rest of the story.)

I read discovered/learned from her profile that she’s originally from Hong Kong (her birthday birthplace) so I bet thought/figured she might be interested in the our/my local Cantonese club. in Chongqing.

I said to her “FYI, there’s a local weekly [Cantonese] club in Chongqing where a group of people meets every week to talk about interesting things to chat in Cantonese”.

See above. You didn't need to keep repeating the name of your town.

The abrreviation 'FYI' is for writing, not for speaking, so it's entirely inappropriate here.

Given that it was in a chat group, I assumed Silver typed that message. We often use "say" when talking about online (written) conversations.

It's not uncommon to hear "FYI" used in spoken English nowadays, so I don't think there's anything particularly inappropriate there.

These are all actual utterances I've either personally used or heard recently.

Hey, just as an FYI, Tina's pretty upset over your decision.
FYI, I'm going to be out of the office next Thursday.
Just FYI, Mary's on the warpath about your late-night email.
So, as kind of an FYI, the group's not too happy about what's going on lately.
As an FYI for everyone, there's going to be some restructuring in leadership.

I guess we can agree to disagree on that and move on. It sounds awful to me, as if you're trying to be ironic or something. Like saying 'LOL'.

(I really don't mean to offend you or anyone else here, by the way. I'm sure I sometimes say things that others find cringy too.)
