Hello.

Does this sound natural? I added the rest for context. It is from questions for students.

"These money are important to her. She accepted the job so she can pay for her college. She is fit for this pregnancy and her health is in good condition. She can definitely be a surrogate mother."

The first sentence is wrong. Money is, with minor exceptions, an uncountable noun. This money is important to her.

The other sentences are correct, aren't they?

Rachel, I can't help feeling that you already knew that 'these money' was wrong.

What was the whole sentence in the 'question for students'? Which part did you add? Why didn't you tell us what you thought the mistake was? What is the source of the question for students, and what was the actual question?

I was asking about "this money" but typed "these money" accidentally. I knew it's uncountable but my original question is about using "this" before "money". It is used in Russian but does it sound natural in English? I know now that it does. That's what I was wondering about. The whole passage is mine. The question was "Would you agree to be a surrogate mother?"

Could you please also tell me if the rest is also correct?

I don't know what "from questions for students" means. What questions for students? Anyhow, here are some improvements:

"This money is important to her. She accepted the job so she could pay for [STRIKE]her[/STRIKE] college. She is fit for this pregnancy, and her health is good. She can definitely be a surrogate mother."
Is there a reason why you used "this pregancy" rather than just "pregnancy"?

Without knowing more, we can't tell whether this is needed.

General questions for ESL students. Yes, I had a specific pregnancy in mind.

"Good condition" isn't used when you talk about people." Right?

"This money is important to her." Can I also use "for"? I have read about the difference and unfortunately it can depend on context.

Not often. Mostly we use it when someone is in the hospital:

- Me: "How is she?"
- You: "Her doctor says she's in good condition and willl be going home next week."

"This money is important to her." Can I also use "for"?

Not there.

Yup! . . .
. . . Like everything!
