"Deja vu", "non-sequitur" are foreign words. I don't like using that type of word.
If I don't like using foreign words, and I don't like using long words, then there are two types: I don't like using those types of word."
This is an answer I got on another forum. Since it wasn't the topic I decided to open a new post here.

Please let me know if the following sentences are correct.
1) (Someone playing a hip-hop song.) I don't like this type of song. (Since we're talking about one type of song.)
2) A: Do you listen rock and pop songs?
B: I don't like these types of song. (Since we're talking about more than one type.)

If 1 and 2 are correct, I want to know when to say 'these types of songs.'

"Déjà vu" no comma here and "non-sequitur" are foreign words. I don't like using that type of word.

Note my corrections above. Please provide a link to the thread on the other forum.

1 is correct.

See above.

Thank you.
I'm a bit confused about 'these' and 'those.' I'd really like to know why you used 'those' instead of 'these' in the sentence.

Here's an example sentence where I think 'these' is correct.
Car salesman: You could either go for this crossover or the suv.
Y: I'm not into these types of cars. I'm more of a sports car guy.

It's about proximity. "These" pencils in my hand vs "those" pencils over there.

In your example, you are talking about music. It's not present. So, it's "those" types of songs.

If there was a song playing and you remarked on its genre, you could say you don't like "these" types of songs.

(For singular, same situation with "this" and "that." "This" is present.)

I think 'these' is correct here since the conversation is between a car salesman and a customer both of whom are at a car dealership.

Car salesman: You could either go for this crossover or the suv.
Y: I'm not into these types of cars. I'm more of a sports car guy.

To me "this type" and "these types" seem practically equivalent in everyday parlance. Although @SoothingDave's reply is doubtless correct, most people don't usually bother to make the distinction.
