Hi guys,

Suppose, if we are talking to someone and that person is giving us an important information, but while that person was giving us the information, we didn't listen to him, so what should we say like if I want to say that "I was thinking about some other thing while you were giving me the information", so what is the simple way to say that, I wasn't concentrated at that time. There is 1 more question- when some one calls we ask him "where are you calling from" but if we have called someone then how can we ask that person that where is he/she from, like we can't ask "where are you calling from" because we are the caller, so what phrase should be used for this situation.

Please reply guys.

Have some patience. The people who answer here are volunteers doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

You can say something like "I'm sorry, I lost my concentration" or "I spaced out."

If you need to know where someone is located you can simply ask where they are.

I am not a teacher.

You could say, "I'm sorry, I was miles away."

As for the second question, as Dave said, just ask them where they are.

Please reply guys.
Some of us are going to make no attempt to respond to your questions unless you try to break them up into digestible sentences. There is no point in our responding if you ignore what we say.

I agree with 5jj. Tufguy, your sentences are so long it takes far too long to decipher them. You have given "run-on" sentence a whole new meaning. I may even coin a new word -- "sprint-on" sentence.

Marath-on sentences

Run-out-of-breath sentence.
