Which of the following is correct?

A) Were you having hiccups? I was thinking about you.
B) Were you having hiccups? I was thinking of you.

Both are possible but the opening question is rather unnatural.

If you believe thinking about somebody gives them hiccups it's a question that makes sense (sort of).

True, but the tense isn't natural. I'd expect something like "Did you have hiccups twenty minutes ago? I was thinking about you!" Continuous tenses don't work when talking about hiccups.

I have hiccups/I've got hiccups. ✅
I had hiccups. ✅
Have you got hiccups? ✅
Did you have hiccups? ✅
I'm having hiccups. ❌
Were you having hiccups? ❌
