I bought a book called "How the immune system works" by Lauren Sompayrac. I thought it was an illustrated book but it turned out to be full of words. All the technical terms in it confuses me all the more. Today I met someone and he asked me this question when he saw I brought that book with me. I said the following. There was nothing grammatically incorrect about your original suggestion but I can't imagine a native speaker using it, especially "not suitable for the general public".

I'd say something like "Well, yes, I'm trying to read it but there are too many technical terms for me. It's probably aimed at medical students".
