I agree with you Dave. I was surprised when I first discovered it wasn't the "accepted" past participle, but I've ignored that and continue to use it.

I also found Raymott (Aus) using it here in post #5, and MikeinNewYork (US) using it in post#28, RonBee (US) using it in post#4 , and Eckaslike (Wales)in post #25.

So while it may not be deemed standard, it also seems to not just be a AmE thing.
