2. This is the same watch as I lost.


Are the both grammatically correct?

For me, only "that" works.

You don't need "same."

Just: This is the watch that I lost.

"This is the watch I lost" or "This is the same watch as the one/type/kind I lost" depending on whether it was actually your watch or similar to the one you lost.

Then, 'This is the same type of watch that I lost' sounds awkward?
 
No. I thought you had found the lost watch, not one similar to it

That is fine.
