[Grammar] Three millions of dollars.

Three millions of dollars have gone into the building of the schools. (A New English Grammar, by Zhang Keli, page 24)
Is the above sentence acceptable to native speakers?
 
It's not acceptable to me.
 
Nor to me. I suspect it's an unintended amalgamation of the set phrase "millions of dollars" with "three million dollars".
 
The population rose to four millions.
The firm had to pay three millions.

No, they are not.

Get a better grammar book.
 
This is the second or third thread quoting the same book and all the examples have been wrong. I suggest you throw Zhang Keli's book in the nearest rubbish bin and find a grammar book written by a native speaker.
