I'm trying to write a script.
Dan comes through some bushes and out onto a small path, and looks through the cracks of a wooden fence into the backyard of a house. There's a light on inside the house.
Question: Is the bold-faced sentence okay? Do I need anything between 'fence' and 'into'? Maybe:
...and peers through the cracks of a wooden fence looking into the backyard of a house. ?
