too much emotion vs too many emotions

1. Too much emotion may lead to health problems.
2. Too many emotions in one day was too much for him.
Are both these sentences correct and if yes, could you please clarify why "much emotion " in the first sentence and "many emotions" in the second. As I understand the word emotion is uncountable. Or is it both countable and uncountable? Thanks.

Emotion can be both a countable and uncountable noun. Your sentences are both correct.
