What's meant by "total blast" in the following sentence.

We usually have a total blast when we're together but sometimes I do things that annoy him.

A slightly more casual way of rewording it is "a great time". I would use "enjoyable experience" for something like a holiday or a day out, but it sounds as if the speaker and the other person have a great time as long as they're together, no matter what they're doing. It doesn't have to be an experience.
