I heard it somewhere that if someone says something is a total vibe, it means it's good. I wonder how common this slang is.

It's very uncommon. I suggest you don't use it yourself unless it becomes more common.

It's relatively new slang from the last few years or so. It's probably more common with younger speakers. You see/hear it frequently on social media.
