"Getting divorced is like stepping out of a time-machine that tavelled you 14 years."

Would it be OK to say that a buss travelled me all the way to Chicago?

I'm asking is that I've been watching this stand-up comedy TV show staring Louis C.K. and it's called "Louie". I just listened to it again and it's "travelled me fourteen years.." Would that be the regional colloquial thing? He also said things like "told it to me...".

It doesn't sound natural to me. The bus brought you here, it didn't "travel" you.

I agree - this is really odd usage.

It's me who came up with the buss sentence after I heard it said in "that travell me fourteen years....'' So it's non-standard, isn't it?
