1. I will treat you a dinner.
2. I will treat you to a dinner.
3. I will buy you a dinner.

4. I'm yet to treat you a dinner.
5. I have not yet treated you a dinner.

Questions:

A. Are sentence 1, 2 and 3 in the same meaning and degree of politeness?
B. Are sentence 4 and 5 in the same meaning and degree of politeness?

Thanks.

1 is not correct. You need "to" with "treat".
"Buy you dinner" (no "a") is more informal.
To be formal and polite, I would say: I would like to invite you for dinner.

Treat you to a dinner

1. I will treat you to a dinner.
2. I will treat you to a dinner.
3. I will buy you a dinner.

4. I've yet to treat you to a dinner.
5. I have not yet treated you to a dinner.

All of them are very formal, and, practically speaking, unlikely. Try:

May I buy you dinner?

Or (more casual):

Buy you dinner?

1. Can I say:

May I buy you a dinner?

Oh, I overlooked the reply. I understand now. Thanks.

I understand now. Thanks.

I wouldn't use a dinner unless circumstances dictated it. You're welcome.

You could also say:

Would you like to have dinner with me?

Of course, she will reply by saying "Yes!"
:-D

There is no way to tell from any of the previous posts that Ju is necessarily offering to buy dinner for a woman.

Re: Treat you to a dinner

Yes, but he did thank me for my post. (True. I can't be 100% sure that Ju is male.)

;-)

It doesn't make any difference whether Ju is male or not. He/She could be offering to treat a man or a woman to dinner.

May I clarify that "treat" can be used between both gender?

Thanks.

It can.

It is perfectly normal to treat someone to dinner whether that person is of the same or opposite sex.

Furthermore, it is perfectly normal to offer to treat someone to dinner without any romantic expectations of any kind.
