Which of these is correct?

A. Triangular in shape
B. Triangular shape

Thanks!

They can both be correct depending, as usual, on the context.

This chocolate box is triangular in shape.
I drew a triangular shape on a piece of paper.

Note, however, that it would be more natural to say:

This chocolate box is triangular.
I drew a triangle on a piece of paper.

Areas of fertile soil called deltas, usually triangular in shape are formed by mud deposited at the mouth of a river. ( In this sentence what's wrong with using "triangular shap" instead of "triangular in shape" ? )

"Areas of fertile soil called deltas, usually triangular shape are formed by mud deposited at the mouth of a river." This is ungrammatical.

"a triangular shape" is a noun phrase.
"triangular in shape" is a modifier.
