Hi,
I send an email to my friend and started the email by saying

Hello Tara,
Trust this finds you good.

But i was told this is wrong greeting.
Is it so? I would like to know why its wrong, any advice on this - greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jenny

You should write "I trust this finds you well." This means you hope that, when the letter or email "finds" her, she is happy and healthy. Don't forget the subject, and use "well," not "good," to describe a pleasant state of being.
