b. After the family problem occured, compared to before, she turned into a very strong girl..

1. Are the above sentences correct?

2. What are the differences between using turned to and turned into?

In my opinion, in your examples, turn into is better because it means "to become something different". For example, after years of studying, she turnd into a sophisticated person.

 'Turned to' (in this sense*) means 'took on a different form/was transformed'. 'Everything King Midas touched turned to gold. He hugged his daughter and she turned into a golden statue.'

There are other uses of 'turned to' - take, for example, 'Whenever he needed money he turned to his parents for a loan' (Whyever did I think of that? ;-)
