Hello,

Can I combine the adjective "unyielding" with "heart"? I know I can say a person is unyielding but can I say her heart is unyielding?

Do these work?

He tried to capture her unyielding heart, but it was to no avail.

She had a truly unyielding heart.

I would understand it as an emotional characteristic.

So, are these sentences okay?

1. He tried to capture her unyielding heart, but it was to no avail.
2. She had a truly unyielding heart.

alpacinoutd, there really is no need to keep repeating the sentences you gave us in post #1. If you feel that post #2 didn't address them, simply ask something like "So are the sentences in post #1 OK?"

Yes. Sure.

So, are the sentences in post #1 completely okay?

Two things. One, they're OK. Two, I would prefer something like:

He tried to capture her heart, but it was unyielding. Eventually he gave up. He told himself there are other fish in the sea.
:)
