Would you help to me to make the proper choice of the meaning of the expression in bold in the following sentences?

You just up and quit one day.

With the economy as it is, you want to think things out before you just up and quit.

“to up and quit” = to suddenly leave

Yes; I know the expression as 'up and go'.

And 'up' is a verb: he upped and went
