[Vocabulary] use of know and much and about?

Would you please check the uses of "know" and "much" together? Can we use a different preposition than "about" here?

1. A ninja is a kind of warrior in Japanese culture. I don't know much about it.
2. A ninja is a kind of warrior in Japanese culture. I don't know about it much.
3. A ninja is a kind of warrior in Japanese culture. I don't know much.
4. A ninja is a kind of warrior in Japanese culture. I don't much know.

Only 1 is right.

about is the right preposition.

• know a lot about something
• not know much about something

About is the right word.

Much tells us how much you know:

- I don't know anything about them.
- I don't know much about them.
- I don't know enough about them.
- I don't know a lot about them.
- I don't know everything about them.

Whichever word you want, it always goes right after know.
