vot's dat

Hello. I'm wondering what the underlined part means.
I suppose 'vot's dat' is from Dutch. I looked up to Dutch dictionaries.
I found 'dat' means 'that' in English, but I can't found the meaning of 'vot(or vot's)'. Can you guess what it means in this context?
Please help!!! Thank you.



Today we've been in Australia for 10 years (from Holland). My friend came around with a Dutch cake. Pappie said 'vot's dat'? He says 'vot's dat' to everything, especially when he's trying to get Mammie to talk English.

It's "what's that" spoken with a Dutch accent.
