Hi,

The first one is wrong.

''Wait for'' is used only for pronouns, is that right? Such as wait for me, you,...etc.

Hi
When you want to show the purpose of something , you should make use of " to" , " in order to" or "so that".
I am waiting to go back home.
I am waiting in order to get back home.
I am waiting so that I can get back home.
Of course the one that you said is also correct." wait for me"
Good luck!
