I've seen the words "good progress" used. It seems weird to put good + progress.

I've read words like "deafening silence". The combination looks good. However, "good progress" just doesn't sound right.
 
It's fine.
 
Progress as in a report card can be typically classified into varous degrees viz. excellent/good/satisfactory/unsatisfactory/poor.
 
You state that your native language is English in your profile. Please correct this.
 
You can also make little or no progress.
