Dear Teacher(s),
This is my first post in this forum and I am really sorry that this is going to be a bit long one.
But I would really appreciate your help in rectifying this.
Here we go...
Tool-1:
Slots/locations are one of the core components of a wms and are prerequisites for a successful warehouse operation. Their base function is to provide easy and logical access to a physical location in the warehouse. In wms the slots need to be defined before any stock can be directed to that location.
XYZ is using Location Maintenance to add new slots in their warehouses. The downside of using LCM is, it allows working with only one slot at a time. Adding multiple slots or a range of slots using this function is time consuming and a painstaking job which requires following the same steps every time a new Location is added.
Tool-1 is a tool provided by the vendor to automate this process of creating multiple slots. The Tool-1 allows you to add any number of slots in one go instead of creating them one by one which ensures a smooth, efficient and cost effective process. Benefits of using this tool is:
· Time Savings: Create range of slots in one click rather than creating them one by one
· Accuracy: All the slots are created by system, based on the pre-set conditions, means no more repetitive task and no room for error.
· Minimize Cost: By substituting human vulnerabilities with the accuracy of an automated task, you bypass the expensive costs associated with manual errors and inefficiencies.
· Increased productivity: Slot Creation Tool allows you to get more done in the same amount of time, greatly increasing productivity.
Tool-2:
When an operational staff is directed to a location by the system to perform a task, they can go to a completely different location by mistake because they might look or sound similar. In some cases, the staff member can just key in the location to avoid travelling a distant location.
Verification Code in slots ensures that the employee is at the right location and eliminates the chances of keying in the location without actually going to that location. It forces an employee to scan (or speak if voice enabled) the verification code to confirm that they are at the right location.
To apply this code in system, each slot need to be updated individually which is again a laborious job. To help our customer, ABC offers Tool-2 that allows customers to add random verification codes to slot(s) using special criteria. This tool can add random verification codes to any number of slots atomically. This save an abundance of time of you having to add the verification codes manually in each and every slot.
The process also allows you to add criteria to the slot verification code by allowing you to define the verification code length and restricted values such as alphas or 0 (zero)/’O’.
Tool-3:
Upgrading to a new version is a complicated process. ABC always recommends to use tools supplied by ABC for a smooth and worry-free installation and upgrade process.
For example, a typical installation and upgrade process includes:
All of the steps above has to be followed twice, once for the test environment and then when moving into the production.
The manual installation option is available to every customer and can be followed during the upgrade but it will consume a considerable amount of time and will have to follow the steps in the right order to get the installation successful.
Tool-3 provided by ABC is intended to simplify the procedure to install the ABC applications. The Tool-3 helps customer to install the release successfully by automating all the steps listed above without any intervention. The Tool-3 will perform the following functions:
This is the end of the story
Many thanks
