Hi. I'm reading "Abundance of Katherins" by John Green. Here is my question: what did Hassan mean by his "Was it ever" - just confirmation, or doubt or anything? Thank you.
- Where are your glasses?
- I was just asking myself that very question when the girl took her shirt off, - Colin said.
- So you couldn’t see her?
- I couldn’t see her. Just that her bra was purple.
- Was it ever,” Hassan replied.

He basically wants to say that he too saw the girl take her shirt off, but much more clearly than Colin, and that he found the experience of seeing her in her bra exciting.

Was it ever agrees with a proposition and intensifies it. The speaker is saying literally that the bra was extremely purple, if that makes sense. In this context he's probably saying that he remembers the color vividly because of the exciting situation.
