This example is from the book ''A Practical English Grammar'' by Thomson. I used the continuous in both situations as I thought they have been arranged. But is it wrong to use the simple present in the first sentence? ''We have breakfast at 8 tomorrow because Tom is catching an early train.''
''We are having breakfast at 8 tomorrow because Tom is catching an early train.''
