anyone please tell me what does the expression 'hog up' mean? it's very common everywhere yet dictionary did not have it.

Where did you see it? I have never heard it before.

I have heard the word "hog" used as a verb; it means to take more than your fair share. "Don't hog the cookies!" means save some cookies for others. There are many verbs that have become phrasal verbs with the addition of the particle "up" but with the meaning unchanged; perhaps this is one I simply haven't encountered yet.

thanks, for the reply, actually i was just going through some web pages, and came across this phrase, but could not find its meaning anywhere.
