What is the difference between you indicate… and you state…?
 
"State" is stronger.
 
'Stating' has to be explicit. 'Indicating' can be implicit, ie. an implication.
"My wife is fat". That's a statement.
"My wife finds it hard to find clothes big enough for her." That's an indication that the wife is possibly fat, or maybe simply big.
