first ,please take a look at the following convesation between Maxwell and a young man from the bank:
Well you owe us 76 million already, we want to watch this year’s performance before committing anymore funds
Ah, you’re not making this easy for me Bob
Do you think I want to make it easy for you?They send me some putts to tell me they’re not giving me 40 million pounds after I’ve earned their bank a quarter of a billion over the past 10 years and he wants it to be
easy for him.
So what the meaning of "putt" here?Any help will be much appreciated.

I think the word is "putz" and it's slang for "idiot" or something similar.
