-Where did you get all the equipment(from)?
-What time are you starting(from)?
-Who did you get it(from)?
In such sentences is 'from' necessary in spoken English? I've heard some natives skip it.

In the first sentence, it's optional.
In the second sentence, it's incorrect.
In the third sentence, it's necessary.

#s 1&2 "From" is not necessary and although you will hear it, should not be used based on the rule of "never end a question with a preposition".
#3 Again, you will hear it, but the correct form would be "From whom did you get it?"

It reminds me of a TV commercial that, using your example, goes something like:

(A) Who did you get it from?
(B) Don't you know that you should never end a question with a preposition?
(A) Oh, really. Who did you get it from, Dummy?

That's a rule that only a tiny number of people follow, unless you're talking about certain very formal or academic registers. The example sentences here appear to be part of an informal, conversational register.

the correct form would be "From whom did you get it?"

That wouldn't be right in the vast majority of situations where such a question could be elicited.

As Shakespeare famously didn't say, We are such stuff/As that on which dreams are made.

You need to put a space before an opening bracket.

Thanks for all the answers but I'm still not clear wheather I should use 'from' or not.
I'm interested to know about the casual colloquial usages.

The very first reply, from jutfrank, seems crystal clear to me. What do you not understand in it?

Number one is correct with or without "from".

Number two is only correct without "from".

Number three is only correct with "from".
