what's your sense of that

I often hear the anchors ask the guests in some tv interveiw "what's your sense of this,what's your sens of that?" what does sense mean here? Does it same as "what do you make of this,or what's your take on this"?

I think it refers to their opinions, how the people feel about the questions being asked.
 
It recognizes that the person doesn't have all the facts and doesn't know for certain what the situation is, but based on what they do know at the time and their experience in general, what do they believe to be true.
