Which sentence is correct and why
When I got to the station I realized I left my tickets at home
Or
When I got to the station i realized I had left my tickets at home

Re: grammar

The second one is correct (or would be if you capitalised the second "I"). The first one is ungrammatical.

Welcome to the forum, pinkypie.

I have changed your thread title; 'grammar' was useless.

Extract from the Posting Guidelines:

'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'

Your question needs to end with a question mark. The last sentence would be correct if the word I were capitalized and the sentence ended with a period (full stop).

Which sentence is correct and why?

When I got to the station I realized I left my tickets at home.
[strike]Or[/strike]
When I got to the station I realized I had left my tickets at home.

See above. I have shown you how your post should have looked. As the others have said, #2 is correct with a capitalised "I" and a full stop at the end.

Note that in British English, it would be "realised", not "realized".
