Suppose I went on a business trip to London for three months. After returning home, I told my friend about my experience there. Among other things, I said:

A. When I lived in London, I was getting up at 5 a.m. to get to work by 6.

In this sentence, the continuous aspect emphasizes the temporary nature of my visit. I wonder if it would also be correct to switch the aspects around:

B. When I was living in London, I got up at 5 a.m. to get to work by 6.

Can version B also be used to emphasize that my stay in London was temporary?

C. When I was living in London, I was getting up at 5 a.m. to get to work by 6.

How do you like version C? Does it work in the context given?
