[Grammar] Where do you come from?

Where do you come from? how answer this..Is this answer is correct?(I came from home).
Plz tell me how to answer in right way.

Do and come are present tense. We use present tense to talk about general things or things that always happen:
'I go to school.' (I may not be in school at this moment, but that's where I spend most of my time)
'I like pizza.'

The correct response to "Where do you come from?" is a general statement like, 'I come from Sri Lanka.'

If the question was, 'Where did you come from?' (past tense) it is a more specific question relating to a more immediate situation, so the response should be more like, 'I came from home.'

We also like to have our response verb(s) agree in tense with the question verb(s).
