[Grammar] where or the one where?

This research center is ________ you saw the modern equipment last year.

A. where B. the one where

The answer is B, but I think A is also right in this sentence. Am I right?
 
Yes. I think A is the better answer.

I'm torn on this one. Had it said "The research centre ..." I would have gone with "where". However, it specifies "This research centre" so I think that "the one where" fits because it continues with the suggestion that there is more than one research centre which might be relevant.
