Dear Teacher,

I am preparing TOEIC exam and found the following question from a pratice test site quizlib.net. It shows that C is wrong, but I think "grows" is a verb of the subject Guar, so it as "s". So C is correct, Am I correct, if not please help to explain!
Thanks you very much

Guar is a sturdy drought-resistant legume grows for forage and for its seeds.
A B C D

"Guar" is not the subject. Guar is a legume. The legume is grown for forage and seeds.

Guar is a legume (that is) grown for forage.

What was the test question?

@Dave. I think you may want to rephrase your post. "Guar" is the subject of the sentence.

The selections A,B,C and D are not shown.

I'm guessing one of them is "grown."

The underlined words are A through D. These question usually ask which of the words is incorrect. I agree with you that C is incorrect and should be "grown".

Well, if the question is which word is wrong, C is wrong, therefore C is the right answer.

Well, I think you have the right idea but not all of the underlined words are verbs.

Of course. I've fixed it.

The original post stated that "grows" is a verb of the subject "Guar." Yes, "Guar" is the subject of the main verb in the sentence, but it is not the subject of the verb "grows" (or "grown").
