To be honest, I didn't understand it.Some of my friends are studying law. They 've heard it in a movie related to the law.

What is the movie and what is the exact quote?

The biblical quote means that it's easy to step onto the path to destruction (in life) because it has a (metaphorical) wide gate and it is a wide road. That is why many people choose that path. The path to being "good" is a narrower path with a smaller gate so it is more difficult to access that road. That is why fewer people take it.

I believe the context is talking about salvation.
